What a day of fun and excitement!! Woo Hoo!! Today was a time to spend with my kids and my niece, as we ventured to the Newly Remodeled Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. There were many new changes done, from the schematic to the gardens and especially to the rides. It is more constructed towards the younger children and has made it more kid friendly.
We also got a chance to stroll a bit through the wonderful Japanese Friendship Garden. It still had the quiet and essence that I so remembered as a kid but it was truly sad to see that the once pond filled beauty no longer inhabited the ever so pretty Koi Fishes. Instead there were a few ducks that waddled through the moss filled ponds.
The bonsai trees and cherry blossoms were still blooming and the other difference is that the once red painted bridge that overlooked the pond was now brown. No Koi Fish means, you were not able to feed the fish or ducks, so the feeding machines were taken out.
The houses and landscapes were still standing, the one view that I remember being quite peaceful and tranquil, was the waterfall. A picture speaks a thousand words...enough said...
Overall, the weather was nice and sunny, and it was fun watching the kids walk through the gardens with such interest. The looks and smiles on their faces were simply...priceless :)
