Today I had a fun filled time with my kids as we enjoyed the dance styling of the Lokahi (Unity) Polynesian Dance Group as they put on their "Winter Island Fest" at the Mount Pleasant High School Theater. I was able to see the many talents of the men, women and children, that performed with such excitement and charisma whom now inspired me to think about trying out other forms of dance.
They entertained and captivated the audience with their Polynesian and Hawaiian Hula dances and Tahitian Drummings to the sound of music, telling the stories and songs with their body and hands.
I was especially impressed and proud of my beautiful niece, Laelani and her sister, both so talented and have grown to be such positive and outstanding young girls.
This is all thanks to the direction of Pamela and Mike Fabro, whom started the group in 1999. With hard work and dedication, you can tell that the future is bright and will prosper for them and all the students in this group.
Thank you for a wonderful show and I'm quite sure there will be many more great performance to come in the future...
